Development of GP registrar training at the practice.
The practice has been established for over 16 years and for more than 10 of those years the practice has trained medical students from the university of Nottingham Medical school. Dr Panesar has completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education with Merit and has a keen interest in teaching. Over recent years the practice has moved towards developing a greater focus on research and teaching. This has been delayed somewhat by the focus on the Pandemic and the need to support the community.
We are now delighted to confirm that the practice is in the early stages of registering as a training practice for GP trainees known as registrars. These trainee doctors are fully qualified having worked in hospital and will be available to provide care and learn the skills needed to be a mature GP. The practice is pround to be part of training the next generation.
We are currently going through the process needed for registration as a GP training practice and we anticipate taking our first GP registrar in August of this year. For the first year the practice will aim to start with one GP registrar trainee and then in the second year will hope to increase that number to two.
We look forward to keeping all of our patients up to date with these exciting developments,
